Duration: FULL DAYWashington DC is easily recognizable as the United State’s capital city. The city is mainly based on government and everything from museums to mansions bring millions of tourists each year. Washington DC is the second most visited city in the United States (after New York) and is among the top travel destinations in the world. You will depart for the Nation’s Capital while driving through the states of New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia. Among the several highlights, you will see the exterior of the White House (residence and workplace of the President of the United States), the George Washington Monument (for a staggering view of the green-swept Mall), the National Archives, the Library of Congress, the National Gallery, the US Capitol Building (home to the Senate and House Representatives), the Lincoln Memorial, the Potomac River, the Arlington Cemetery (with John F. Kennedy’s burial site and the Tomb of the Unknowns ), and the residence of General Lee. Time permitting, we may include a visit to the Smithsonian’s Air and Space Museum, the largest of the Smithsonian’s 19 museums encompassing some 60,000 objects ranging in size from Saturn V rockets to jetliners to gliders to space helmets to microchips.
