Tuesdays, Thursdays
Duration: 4 HOURS.Whether you’re visiting New York, in the area for business, or here to explore exciting attractions or quality dining, one of the most unique attractions is to admire Manhattan from the distance, directly across the Hudson river, from New Jersey (America’s “Garden State”). We have prepared a thrilling and entertaining ride with spectacular views from Weehawken and Hoboken, two lively and ethnically diverse cities, situated along the western shore of the Hudson River, featuring friendly neighborhoods, fun bars, stunning scenery and fantastic shopping. Despite having a high population density and its location at the heart of the New York metropolitan area, Weehawken has a small town feel, comprised of close knit neighborhoods with waterfront walkways allowing for spectacular views of the iconic Big Apple’s skyline. Also atop the cliffs is the memorial to Alexander Hamilton, who in 1804 was fatally wounded by Aaron Burr, then Vice-president of USA in the nation’s most famous duel. Revelers will have a chance to stroll along the waterfront or Boulevard East, and later stop at nearby Hoboken, an upscale oasis for both students and young professionals, once known only as the birthplace of baseball and crooner Frank Sinatra and the site of Stevens Institute of Technology. The two famous spots in town are a brick arch and bronze star in the sidewalk at 415 Monroe Street which marks the location of Sinatra’s birthplace, and a plaque at the intersection of 11th and Washington Street, right next to Helmer’s Restaurant, which commemorates the site of the first recorded baseball game in history. If you are a film buff, the gritty and amazing Brando film, “On The Waterfront” was filmed in Hoboken. You will later stop at Trinity, a typical Irish-style tavern offering breath-taking waterfront views of the New York City skyline, for a drink and a zesty appetizer in the lively bar atmosphere. You’ll later take a New York Waterway ferry across the Hudson to 14th Street for a final stop at the illuminated Brooklyn Bridge Promenade, before returning to midtown Manhattan.
